“Hey Tesla” Wake Word Is Finally Arriving
Once enabled, drivers will be able to say “Hey, Tesla” to wake the in-car voice assistant, similar to how Siri, Alexa, or Google Assistant work.
In China, this wake word activates Tesla’s region-specific voice assistant, which functions similarly to Grok but is not a full AI assistant. It can handle basic tasks such as:
