Upgraded Tesla Model 3 Performance poised for early 2024 debut: report

The new Tesla Model 3 Performance is planned to be introduced in Australia in the first half of 2024. The wait will apparently be worthwhile because the new top-tier Model 3 will be "pretty special."

The improved Tesla Model 3, dubbed the Model 3 Highland in EV circles, was just unveiled in Sydney, Australia. In Australia, as in other regions, the improved Model 3 is presently available in only two variants: the base Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) version, which starts at AUD 61,900 (USD 40,451), and the Model 3 Long Range Dual Motor All Wheel Drive (AWD), which starts at AUD 71,900 (USD 46,986).

According to a Carsales.com.au article, the enhanced Tesla Model 3 Performance will be available in early 2024, making the wait not too long. While the covers were being removed from the Model 3 Highland in Sydney, Tesla Australia lead engineer and Model 3 program veteran Daniel Ho reportedly indicated that the new vehicle would arrive in the first half of 2024.

According to the Tesla engineer, the enhanced Model 3 Performance will also be "pretty special."

While Ho did not reveal many details about the future vehicle, the new Model 3 Performance is expected to be a significant upgrade over its predecessor. According to Carsales.com.au, Tesla admitted that it "left a few things on the table" when it delivered the initial generation of the top-tier Model 3. This was supposedly due to the corporation still being in "production hell" at the time.

Tesla, on the other hand, is no longer in production hell. Furthermore, the company has grown to be one of the world's most experienced manufacturers of electric vehicles. As a result, Tesla is apparently trying to address and achieve the vehicle's true potential with the next improved Model 3 Performance. According to reports, the vehicle would be built for driving aficionados.

The enhanced Model 3 Performance is expected to be faster and more agile than its predecessor, which was already capable. Previous speculation regarding the vehicle has also stated that the Model 3 Performance will have a distinctive badge at the rear, akin to the Model S Plaid.
