Tesla has reached another major manufacturing milestone in Europe. The company’s Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg, better known as Giga Berlin, has officially produced its 750,000th vehicle since operations began in 2022.
The achievement highlights how quickly Tesla has scaled production in Europe and reinforces the growing importance of Giga Berlin in the company’s global manufacturing strategy. As demand for the Tesla Model Y remains strong across European markets, the German factory is becoming one of Tesla’s most critical production hubs worldwide.
According to Tesla, the factory is now operating at record efficiency levels while continuing to expand production capacity.

Tesla confirmed the milestone through its official Tesla Manufacturing account on X, sharing a video that showcased the factory’s large-scale operations, including stamping, casting, battery systems, and final vehicle assembly.

The Berlin facility primarily produces the Tesla Model Y for the European market. Since opening, the factory has rapidly increased output and now builds thousands of vehicles every week.
The milestone comes just four years after Tesla officially opened the site in Brandenburg, Germany, marking one of the fastest production ramps in the automotive industry.

Tesla’s Advanced Paint Shop and Automated Manufacturing Stand Out
One of the most notable features inside Giga Berlin is its highly automated paint shop.
Tesla says the facility can apply up to seven layers of paint using hundreds of robotic systems, creating deeper finishes and improved paint quality at high production volumes.
The company has frequently highlighted the Berlin paint shop as one of the most advanced automotive paint facilities in the world.
Automation also extends beyond the production line itself. Tesla revealed that newly built Model Y vehicles at Giga Berlin can drive autonomously from the end of the production line to outbound logistics areas using Full Self-Driving technology.
According to Tesla, vehicles at the factory have already completed a combined 93,000 miles (150,000 km) of autonomous driving within the facility grounds without human drivers.
Tesla Expands Giga Berlin Production Capacity in 2026
Tesla is continuing to scale operations at the German factory as it pushes toward even higher annual production numbers.
The company is currently increasing production capacity by approximately 20%, supported by additional hiring and operational expansion.
Plant manager André Thierig has previously stated that the factory team continues working to maximize production efficiency and optimize manufacturing output.
The expansion follows a strong first quarter in 2026, when Giga Berlin achieved some of its highest weekly production rates to date.
The increased production also aligns with Tesla’s broader European growth plans, especially as the Model Y continues to rank among the best-selling electric vehicles globally.
Tesla Plans Battery Expansion at Giga Berlin
Tesla’s long-term plans for Giga Berlin extend beyond vehicle assembly.
The automaker aims to establish up to 8 GWh of battery production capacity at the site by 2027, helping reduce dependence on external battery suppliers and strengthening local supply chains in Europe.
Battery localization is expected to play a major role in Tesla’s strategy as the company works to lower costs and increase production flexibility across multiple vehicle programs.
The expansion could also improve delivery times for European customers while reducing transportation and logistics expenses.
Giga Berlin Could Reach 1 Million Vehicles Sooner Than Expected
With production continuing to ramp and hiring accelerating, Tesla now appears to be on track to surpass 1 million vehicles built at Giga Berlin sometime in 2027 — potentially even earlier if current growth trends continue.
