Tesla has officially expanded its Supercharger Site Maps feature into Canada, giving drivers a smarter and more intuitive charging experience at Supercharger stations across the country.
The feature, which first launched in the United States as part of Tesla’s 2025 Holiday Software Update, is now appearing at Supercharger locations in several Canadian provinces, including British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
The rollout marks another major improvement to Tesla’s charging ecosystem as the company continues enhancing both daily usability and the long-term future of autonomous driving.
Tesla Supercharger Site Maps Now Available in Canada
Tesla owners in Canada can now access detailed visual layouts of supported Supercharger stations directly from their vehicle touchscreen.
According to searches conducted within Tesla’s in-car navigation system, Site Maps are currently live at select locations in:
- British Columbia
- Alberta
- Ontario
- Quebec
- New Brunswick
- Nova Scotia
At the moment, Tesla has not yet enabled the feature in Saskatchewan or Manitoba, although additional expansion is expected over time.
Tesla originally launched Supercharger Site Maps in the United States last year through a limited pilot program. The company then rapidly expanded the rollout, adding support to hundreds of locations every week.
What Tesla Supercharger Site Maps Actually Do
The new feature is designed to make navigating busy charging stations significantly easier.
When drivers select a compatible Supercharger station in navigation, they can tap “View Site Map” to open a detailed visual representation of the charging site. The interface displays:
- The exact layout of charging stalls
- Real-time charger occupancy
- Available stalls
- Occupied stalls
- Out-of-service chargers
Instead of simply showing the number of open stalls, Tesla now provides a visual overview of the entire site, helping drivers quickly locate an available charger without unnecessary confusion.
This becomes especially useful at larger Supercharger locations during peak travel periods, where traffic congestion and charger availability can change rapidly.
Improved Accuracy for Non-Tesla EV Charging
Tesla has also upgraded how its system detects charger usage by non-Tesla electric vehicles.
Since many third-party EVs have charging ports placed in different locations compared to Tesla vehicles, they may occupy charging spaces differently when using Tesla’s shorter V3 Supercharger cables. In some cases, one vehicle can partially block an adjacent stall.
The updated Site Maps system can now recognize these situations and adjust stall availability information accordingly.
As a result, drivers receive a more accurate view of which charging stalls are actually usable in real time.
This improvement reflects Tesla’s ongoing efforts to optimize the Supercharger experience as more non-Tesla EVs gain access to the network across North America.
Only Available on AMD Ryzen Tesla Vehicles
Currently, Supercharger Site Maps are limited to Tesla vehicles equipped with the AMD Ryzen infotainment processor.
Vehicles using the older Intel Atom processor do not support the feature.
Tesla introduced AMD Ryzen hardware beginning in late 2021, bringing significantly improved graphics performance and faster interface responsiveness to newer Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X vehicles.
Because Site Maps rely heavily on advanced visual rendering and live data processing, the feature remains unavailable on older hardware platforms.
A Step Toward Autonomous Charging
While Site Maps already improve the ownership experience today, Tesla has hinted at much larger plans for the future.
Tesla Charging executive Max de Zegher previously described Site Maps as “an excellent canvas to keep improving over time, including for FSD/Robotaxi.”
That statement strongly suggests Tesla is building the foundation for autonomous charging navigation, allowing future Full Self-Driving vehicles or Robotaxis to identify, enter, and position themselves at charging stalls without human assistance.
As Tesla continues expanding its autonomous driving ambitions, detailed charging site visualization could become a critical part of fully automated long-distance travel.
Tesla Continues Expanding the Supercharger Experience
Tesla’s Supercharger network remains one of the company’s strongest competitive advantages, and features like Site Maps show that Tesla is still actively improving the charging experience beyond simply adding more stations.
By combining live charger availability, intelligent stall detection, and visual station layouts, Tesla is making charging faster, easier, and less stressful for drivers across Canada.
With the Canadian rollout now underway, more Supercharger locations are expected to gain Site Maps support in the coming months.
