Standard 19-inch wheels contribute to this range, though upgrading to 20-inch wheels reduces it to 344 miles and adds $2,000 to the cost. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, 0.8 seconds slower than the AWD’s 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of 125 mph. Optimal Supercharging can add up to 182 miles of range in just 15 minutes, enhancing its appeal for long-distance travel.

While this model does not meet the anticipated $25,000 price point for a budget Tesla EV, it narrows the gap significantly compared to the Model 3, which starts at $44,130 with a 363-mile range. Reports suggest Tesla may introduce an even cheaper Model Y variant, codenamed “E41,” in 2026, potentially starting around $36,000, to further boost sales.
