Tesla has released version 4.55.6 of its mobile app, bringing several exciting features for owners to enjoy. From creative tools to improved Dashcam functionality, this update makes managing and interacting with your Tesla easier and more fun.
Sketchpad App Updates
The Sketchpad app has received a significant upgrade in vehicle update 2026.14. Designed for vehicles with AMD Ryzen infotainment units, the new Sketchpad adds many features previously seen in Tesla’s Photobooth app.
- Add emojis and stickers to your sketches.
- Save sketches to access them in the Tesla mobile app.
- Share sketches online or save them directly to your device.
Privacy Note: Sketchpad drawings are stored locally on your vehicle and cannot be accessed by Tesla. To access saved sketches in the app, your phone must be set up as a phone key.
Dashcam Video Enhancements
Tesla app 4.55.6 also improves Dashcam video functionality. Saved clips now include full vehicle telemetry, including:
- Vehicle speed
- Steering wheel angle
- Self-Driving mode status
Previously, telemetry was visible in the app and vehicle but was not saved with the video. Now, all data is embedded in saved clips, giving owners a complete record of their drives.
Pet Mode (Previously Dog Mode)
Tesla has rebranded Dog Mode to Pet Mode, offering more options for pet owners. The update, coming in vehicle version 2026.14, includes:
- Support for cat and hedgehog avatars, in addition to the balloon dog.
- Customization to display your pet’s name.
Pet Mode continues to ensure your furry (or spiky) companions stay safe while inside the vehicle.
Custom Wraps and License Plate Support
The Tesla app now supports custom wraps and license plates for all Tesla models:
- Model 3 and Model Y
- Model S and Model X
- Cybertruck
This feature was previously available on the Cybertruck and later added to Model 3 and Model Y in the 2025 holiday update. The latest app version lets you set or create wraps and plates directly through the app once your vehicle has update 2026.14 installed.
Automatic Updates
Tesla has added support for scheduling automatic updates through the mobile app. Features include:
- Schedule vehicle software updates for a specific time.
- Track whether an update is scheduled for automatic installation.
- Receive notifications when updates are ready to install.
This feature ensures your Tesla stays up to date without manual intervention. Automatic updates require vehicle update 2026.14.
