Tesla offers a 30-day trial of FSD (Supervised) V14 in North America

Introduction: Tesla (TSLA) has launched a 30-day trial of its latest Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system, FSD v14.2, across North America. Owners must have Hardware 4.0 to use FSD v14.

Tesla has offered free FSD trials several times in the past, though these promotions have not significantly boosted FSD purchases or subscription numbers. However, FSD v14 delivers substantial improvements compared to earlier versions.

With the successful rollout of the FSD v14.2 stable release, Tesla has decided to give the public another chance to try the feature during the 2025 holiday season. Starting today, Tesla owners in North America will be able to experience the new capabilities of FSD v14 through the holiday software update.

As the FSD v14 testing phase begins, all Tesla vehicles in North America (including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico) will receive the FSD v14.2 update. An estimated 1.5 million Teslas equipped with HW4 (including Cybertruck) are expected to participate in the FSD v14.2 trial.

Tesla officially announced that the 30-day FSD v14 trial will be available for Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Cybertruck. However, Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y must be equipped with HW4/AI4 hardware to run FSD v14. Vehicles with HW3 cannot run FSD v14 or any version of it.

Owners will receive an email and/or a notification through the Tesla mobile app confirming that the trial is available for download and installation (Wi-Fi is required to download the update).

The 30-day trial period begins immediately once FSD v14.2 is installed on the vehicle. This offer applies to Tesla owners who did not purchase the Full Self-Driving package when ordering their vehicle.
